Sindh records over 3,000 malaria cases in 24 hrs
The fewest cases of malaria were reported in Karachi.
Karachi: Malaria has witnessed a rapid and alarming spread across the Sindh province, with more than 3,000 new cases reported in the past 24 hours alone.
The provincial Health Department reveals that among the reported cases, Hyderabad recorded the highest with 1,381 cases, followed by Larkana with 827, Mirpurkhas with 513, Sukkur with 379, and a smaller number of cases in Karachi, totaling seven patients.
In a concerning trend, this year has seen a staggering total of 442,776 individuals affected by malaria in Sindh, with Hyderabad accounting for the lion's share at 212,333 cases.
On the other end of the spectrum, Karachi reported the lowest number of cases at 2,858, but the province has also seen two unfortunate malaria-related deaths this year.
