More than 2,048 men and women were confirmed with Hepatitis C and B
Rawalpindi: Every 25th citizen in Pakistan is infected with Hepatitis C.
4.5 percent of the total population is infected with this disease, of which 3.33 percent are youth, 4.42 percent are adults, and 1.48 percent are children. Among drug addicts, this rate is 43.42 percent.
According to the report of the Localized Hepatitis Elimination and Prevention Program, 47,728 people were screened in 10,347 homes in seven union councils of Rawalpindi during the anti-hepatitis campaign.
More than 2,048 men and women were confirmed with Hepatitis C and B, while 22 people were confirmed to be infected with Hepatitis B and C simultaneously.
According to the CEO of the program, Dr Ansar Ishaq, eight pregnant women were infected with hepatitis, and PCR tests were conducted on all patients infected with hepatitis.
According to the report, more than 2,048 people are victims in Rawalpindi, with the rate among people suffering from various diseases being 46.92 percent.
