Power tariff likely to hike by Rs1.30
The hike will make the power consumers suffer by Rs22.56 billion.

Islamabad: Electricity companies have submitted an appeal in National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase the power tariff by Rs1.30, GNN reported.
According to details, the hike will make the power consumers suffer by Rs22.56 billion, while Rs12.12 billion will be collected in the form of capacity payment. Consumers will pay Rs4.61 billion for repairs and operation.
It has also been requested to make the consumer suffer the burden of power theft and line loses for at the cost of Rs6.61 billion. They have further recommended to implement Rs10.24 billion for the use of electricity system.
The electricity companies have requested the hike in the form of quarterly payment adjustment.
NEPRA has set the date of November 14 for the public hearing of the case in which all public representatives will be present and it will be decided that how much hike should be made in the power tariff.
