Water Theft: IRSA pens letter to Sindh
A letter has been written by the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) to the Sindh government on the issue of 50% water-theft from Kotri Barrage.
According to details, a letter was written by IRSA to the Sindh government on the issue of water theft, saying that despite several applications from the authority, water is still being stolen from Kotri Barrage.
The letter said 52,000 acre-feet of water had disappeared from the Kotri Barrage from May 1 to 22.
Fifty per cent of Sindh's water is being wasted under Kotri Barrage and Sindh farmers are not getting their due right to water.
“Investigate 50% loss of water below Kotri Barrage and control theft of water below Kotri Barrage,” read the letter.
