In Afghanistan, government forces have freed eight soldiers from a Taliban prison during an operation in Baghlan province.

Eight security force members were freed from a Taliban prison in an operation in northern Baghlan on Sunday night, the statement was released on Monday.
According to an official statement released by Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD), two comandos were also killed, and another was wounded during the operation.
“The operation was launched in Amarkhil village of Baghlan-e-Jadid and the security force members who had been taken captive were freed,” the statement read.
Earlier on Friday, at least 20 Taliban terrorists were killed in Afghan forces operations in Baghlan.
