Chief Minister Punjab directed indiscriminate development in every area of Lahore
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Monday directed to develop a sustainable drainage system in the streets.
A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz regarding the local government in which a briefing was given on the drainage and sewerage system and the repair and rehabilitation of streets. The meeting also reviewed the progress on street lights, park and horticulture in suburban areas.
Speaking during the meeting, Chief Minister Punjab directed indiscriminate development in every area of Lahore, saying that no part should be deprived, no street of the city should remain unpaved, sustainable water drainage system should also be designed.
Maryam Nawaz said that Water And Sanitation Agency (WASA), Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) and other related institutions should work in a coordinated and organized manner, the people should not suffer due to standing water in any street.
She further said that it is painful to see dirty water and boiling sewers on broken streets, neighborhoods and roads. All institutions should not neglect to solve the problems of the people.
