The federal planning minister says Gwadar will become an internationally acclaimed world-class port city with tremendous opportunities for its people


Islamabad: Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said on Sunday that China showed a remarkable contribution in development of different regions of Pakistan, including Gwadar under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Talking to Chinese news agency Xinhua, he said Gwadar would become an internationally acclaimed world-class port city with tremendous opportunities for its people.
Appreciating China's contributions for the uplift of Gwadar, Ahsan Iqbal said China has set up a state-of-the-art modern hospital and helped set up a technical training institution in for the people of Gwadar.
He said China has also undertaken initiatives to improve the lives of the local people including provision of solar panels to them.
Ahsan Iqbal pointed out that China has also given scholarships for the youth of Gwadar who are studying in Chinese universities.
