Pakistan has decided to join Russia's game-changer project after China.

According to media reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Pakistan to join the North-South International Transport Corridor.

The Russian President had invited Pakistan to join the North-South International Transport Corridor in his State of the Union address last year.

The reports suggest that Pakistan has agreed to join the project and has started the process of negotiations and related procedures.

It is also reported that Pakistan has successfully imported one million tons of Russian crude oil, while discussions are underway on the promotion of mutual cooperation in agriculture between Pakistan and the Russian Federation.

According to the reports, the first shipment of Pakistani canoes was delivered to Russia via Iran and Azerbaijan.

Along with CPEC, Pakistan is considering using the Silk Road in ITC. Importing timber from the Russian Federation to Pakistan is also being considered, added the reports.

It is also stated that work is also going on to provide educational opportunities to Pakistani students in Russian universities, while talks on environmental sustainability are also going on between the two countries.

Like CPEC, Russia's International North-South Transport Corridor can be a game changer. It will strengthen Pakistan's relations with Iran, Azerbaijan and other countries in the region.
