Remand extended for husband of TV Anchor Ayesha Jehanzeb
The court has asked the police to submit their investigation report at the next hearing
Lahore: The physical remand of Haris Ali, the husband of private TV anchor Ayesha Jehanzeb, has been extended by one day.
A judicial magistrate in Lahore heard the case upon the police's request.
After the completion of the initial two-day physical remand, the police presented the accused, Haris Ali, in court.
The police requested additional remand time, stating that further investigation with the accused is required.
The court asked the police to submit their investigation report at the next hearing.
Two days prior, Ayesha Jehanzeb alleged that she was subjected to violence by her husband, Haris Ali. The incident reportedly occurred following a dispute between the couple.
Following a medical examination, Ayesha filed a case against Haris under charges of attempted murder. Consequently, the police arrested him and initially obtained a two-day remand from the court.
The court's decision to extend the remand will allow the police more time to investigate the allegations thoroughly.
