In 1999, the United Nations adopted a resolution to celebrate August 12 as International Youth Day

Islamabad: World Youth Day is being celebrated today (Monday), including in Pakistan. Youth are the future of any nation, half of Pakistan's population consists of youth.
World Youth Day is celebrated every year on August 12, including Pakistan. In 1999, the United Nations adopted a resolution to celebrate August 12 as International Youth Day. Thus, since August 12, 2000, every year this day is celebrated as World Youth Day with a new theme.
The objective of celebrating this day is to give importance to the young generation as well as draw the attention of the world to the challenges they face. Most of the young people in the world are suffering from poverty and are unemployed.
The development and future of any country is said to be the youth of that country.
Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world. In a country with such a large population of youth, about 40 percent of the youth are uneducated. We have to lead the youth towards positive activities, arrange education, health, and good food for them.
World Youth Day calls for highlighting the effective role of the youth and providing all possible facilities to them, so that they can utilise their potential.
