Dengue, malaria, chikungunya and viral infections on high in Karachi
1,724 cases of dengue were reported in Sindh this year
Karachi: The number of patients with dengue, malaria, chikungunya, and viral infections increased in Karachi.
According to medical experts, an estimated 50 patients come to Jinnah and Civil Hospital every day with colds, fever, and body aches, while the suspected cases include dengue malaria, chikungunya, and viral infection.
The Sindh Health Department said that 411 suspected cases of chikungunya were reported in Sindh, of which 153 were confirmed.
According to the health department, 1,724 cases of dengue were reported in Sindh this year and 1,484 were reported in Karachi alone, while one death was reported due to dengue in Sindh this year.
The health department stated that 2,22,239 malaria cases were reported in Sindh this year and 1,768 cases of malaria were reported in Karachi only.
On the other hand, it is also reported that the testing kits for Chikungunya are not available in government hospitals.
