KP Assembly passes resolution related to Afghan trade
Resolution stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the main route of cross-border trade
Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly approved the resolution presented regarding Afghan trade.
In the resolution presented by Awami National Party (ANP) Member of Assembly Arbab Usman, it was said that trade with Afghanistan is important and has economic benefits for both countries. Due to the current obstacles, both countries are losing billions of rupees.
The resolution stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the main route of cross-border trade. It is necessary to improve the trading system, by expanding this trade, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can be easily accessible to other countries.
The resolution added that this business will reduce the dependence of the province on the federation, and the government of Pakistan should take steps to restore trade together with the Afghan government.
