Donald Trump has received 277 and Kamala Harris 226 electoral votes so far
Washington: Donald Trump has been elected the 47th president of the United States, the Associated Press reports.
The outlet termed it an “extraordinary comeback” for the former president, citing his refusal to accept defeat in 2020, the violent insurrection at the US Capitol in 2021, his conviction of felony charges and survival in two assassination attempts.
After the polling time has ended in all 50 states for the election of the President of the United States, the counting of votes and the results are in progress.
Donald Trump has won in two of the dice-rolling states, while counting of votes continues in five states.
Out of 538 US presidential elections, Donald Trump has received 277 and Kamala Harris 226 electoral votes so far.
According to the results so far, the Republicans have won 186 seats in the House of Representatives, the Democrats have won 160 seats. Donald Trump has won 27 of the 50 states of the United States, while Kamala Harris has won 19.
While the Republicans have won 51 seats and the Democrats have won 43 seats in the Senate.
Polling times in the US are also different in different states. Due to six different time zones, polling will end at different times in different US states.
The voting process for the presidential elections is going on in other states of America, in which the contest between the Republican candidate Donald Trump and the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris is expected.
According to American media, 78.9 million people have already cast their votes and any candidate will need at least 270 out of 538 electoral votes to win.
In today's elections, voters will elect 435 members of the House of Representatives and 218 seats are required to control the House of Representatives.
34 out of 100 members of the US Senate will also be elected today. Currently, there are 38 Republican members and 28 Democrats in the Senate. Governors will also be elected in 11 states.
In today's US presidential election, seven states will have extraordinary importance and will be important in choosing the new US president.
The US states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin will play an important role in the presidential election.
The ongoing polling process for the election of the 47th President of the United States ended at 4:00am Pakistani time in the American states of Indiana and Kentucky. The polling in Hawaii, Alaska, and several western states ended at 5:00am Pakistan time.
Polling in Georgia and New Carolina ended between 6:00am and 7:00am Pakistan time. Voting in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin ended between 7:00am and 8:00am Pakistan time.
Finally, the polling time will end at 11:00am Pakistan time in Alaska.
