Gmail's new feature to solve major problem
Feature was hinted at by the code present in Google Play Services and has been named ‘Shielded Email’
California: If you use an email service like Gmail, you will know that spam emails are a big problem.
To prevent this, most people use temporary email addresses.
Several such apps provide the facility of temporary email addresses.
Temporary email addresses protect users from suspicious and marketing emails while still having access to important emails.
But now users will not need third-party apps for this purpose because Google is providing the facility of temporary email addresses.
It is pertinent to note that Google has provided several features in Gmail in recent years to protect against spam emails, but your email address remains vulnerable to spam emails.
Now, keeping this problem in mind, Google has decided to provide a temporary email facility within the Gmail app itself.
According to a report by Android Authority, this feature was hinted at by the code present in Google Play Services and has been named ‘Shielded Email’.
The report stated that this feature has been designed keeping in mind the apps or services that request your email address.
That is, users will not have to worry about encountering spam emails while entering their email address to sign up for an app.
The Shielded Email feature will allow users to create 10-minute temporary email addresses that can be used once or for a limited time.
This feature is still under development, so it is difficult to say when it will be introduced to all users.
