Health department instructed availability of PPEs, other essential items in health centers


Karachi: The Sindh Health Department issued emergency guidelines to hospitals in the event of cases of coronavirus and Influenza virus.
The provincial health department has written a letter to the DHOs of the province, directing them to issue emergency guidelines in hospitals on coronavirus and Influenza H1N1 cases.
The letter directed that immediate steps are necessary in the event of an increase in cases of COVID-19 and H1N1 in the winter season, and timely reporting of suspected and confirmed cases should be ensured.
The health department said in its instructions that the availability of PPEs and other essential items should be ensured in health centers. The infection control measures should be further strengthened in government and private health centers while launching a public awareness campaign to emphasize wearing masks, washing hands, and social distancing.
The letter further said that information should be provided on the importance of timely medical assistance regarding the symptoms of COVID-19 and H1N1, weekly reports on COVID-19 and H1N1 cases, measures and problems, and strictly follow the instructions to protect public health.
It is pertinent to note that in the past few days, news came out that 30 percent of cold and cough patients in Karachi are suffering from the coronavirus.
