Pakistan reports sharp increase in Covid cases, deaths amid concerns of fourth wave
Islamabad: Pakistan has reported a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases and deaths amid concerns of fourth wave of coronavirus owing to Delta variant.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,783 cases of coronavirus were reported while 39 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,760.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 986,668.
As many as 918,329 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,508 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 349,890 in the province with 10,865 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 354,103 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,697.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 140,293 in the province with 4,380 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 298,884 confirmed cases while 319 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 21,811 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 598. On the other hand, there are 7,288 cases in GB with 114 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 84,399 cases in the capital city while 787 people have lost their lives.
