‘Strict legal action will be taken in case of any violation of the price list’

(Web Desk): Following the nationwide increase in sugar prices, new official rates have been set for the federal capital and the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In Islamabad, the retail price of sugar has been fixed at Rs172 per kilogram, while the ex-mill price will be Rs165 per kilogram. Strict legal action will be taken in case of any violation of the price list.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Islamabad has issued directives to all Assistant Commissioners in this regard.
DC Islamabad, Irfan Memon, stated that a crackdown will be launched against those selling sugar above the notified price list. He urged citizens to pay only according to the official rates and report any shopkeepers charging more.
Meanwhile, the Food Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also issued instructions for sugar to be sold at the ex-mill rate.
According to an official notification, the ex-mill price of sugar has been set at Rs165 per kilogram, with a monthly increase of Rs2 until October 15, when the price will reach a maximum of Rs171 per kilogram.
