US delegation expressed keen interest in investment opportunities at all three ports of Pakistan


Karachi: The US trade delegation visited the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and expressed keen interest in investing in Pakistani ports.
The Secretary of Maritime Affairs briefed the US delegation on the facilities and investment opportunities at Pakistan’s ports.
The Secretary of Maritime Affairs said that Karachi Port stands 61st out of 405 in the global ranking, which handles 54 percent of the country’s trade.
It was also informed that there are investment opportunities in bulk, container cargo, and off-dock terminals at Port Qasim. There are also plans to build a coastal economic zone, LNG terminals, and a shipyard here.
The US delegation was also informed about the strategic importance of Gwadar Port, in addition to which it was briefed on tourism and economic zones.
The US delegation expressed keen interest in investment opportunities at all three ports of Pakistan.
