Countrywide exams will take place as per schedule except Sindh: Shafqat
Islamabad: Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has said except Sindh all examinations countrywide will take place as per schedule in all other provinces.
Speaking at a press conference, he said all educational institutions are already close in Sindh till August 8, but the Sindh education minister will decide whether or not to open schools keeping in view the latest coronavorus situation in the province.
Eralier, he had chaired a meeting of the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) to review the latest coronavirus situation, closure, and opening of schools
The minister said "all provinces except Sindh have decided to open educational institutions gradually".
He said 5 per cent additional marks will be given to the students in compulsory subjects of examinations.
The minister said students will join on campus classes with 50 per cent attendance. Shafqat said all provincial education ministers have been advised to get the process of vaccination of teachers and students completed by August 31.
"We will evaluate the situation on August 25 to make further decisions," the minister concluded.

Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas, in a tweet, said: "All Teachers, Administration and Staff of Public & Private Schools of Punjab to be Vaccinated by August 22nd, 2021.
