Taipei: A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan at 17:46 local time on Monday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The shaking was reportedly felt in the capital Taipei.
According to EMSC, the epicentre of the quake was located at a depth of 20 km, 64 km to the east of Hualien City, Taiwan.
As per reports, the earthquake earlier measured at 6.0 on the Richter scale.
So far no injuries or damage have been reported.
