PTI's Fawad rejects PM Shehbaz's offer to probe letter-gate scandal
Former information minister demands the Supreme Court should form an independent commission to investigate the scandal
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader and former information minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has rejected the offer made by the newly-elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to probe letter-gate scnadal, saying it's a cheap move to get himself (Shehbaz}an NRO.
After being elected as the 23rd prime minister of Pakistan following Imran Khan's ouster through the no-confidence motion, Shehbaz Sharif vowed that his government would probe the letter-gate scandal and reveal the facts before the public.
Reacting to the news, former information minister Fawad Chaudhry took to Twitter and rejected the newly-elected premier's offer.
"We reject Shehbaz Sharif's offer to probe the letter-gate scandal as it is a vicious attempt to give himself an NRO," he said.
"The Supreme Court should form an independent commission to investigate the letter-gate scandal, headed by a person with a clean record," the PTI leader demands in the tweet.
