Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Saturday said: “Pakistan rejects all such unilateral and illegal actions and vows to continue extending its unwavering diplomatic, moral and political support to Kashmiris in their just struggle”.

On the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, Prime minister turned to Twitter and wrote: “Today marks the completion of four years since India deprived Kashmiris of their statehood by unilaterally annexing Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

He stated that the last four years have represented the culmination of the worst human rights abuses.

Shehbaz Sharif added that violation was not limited to the demographic changes, issuance of fake domiciles, internet shutdown, complete information blackout and imprisonment of Kashmiri leadership of all hues and colours.

At the heart of these illegal and immoral measures has been the nefarious attempt by India to alter the internationally recognized status of IIOJK and undermine the Kashmiris' fundamental right to self-determination, he further said.

The premier also wrote: “We call upon India to reverse its post-August 5 actions”.

History bears witness to the fact that brute force has never succeeded in extinguishing the fire of freedom and rights, he said.

On the other hand, President Dr. Arif Alvi on the occasion: “The actions of August 5 turned occupied Kashmir into an open prison, Kashmiris are making eternal sacrifices against the illegal and usurping rule of India”.

In his special message on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal, Dr. Arif Alvi said that on August 05, 2019, India illegally started its illegal and unilateral operations in Indian-dominated Jammu and Kashmir to disempower, disenfranchise and evict them from their own land.

He added that India has been violating the rights and aspirations of Kashmiri people for the past 75 years with various tactics and conspiracies, however, since August 5, 2019, occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been turned into an open prison.

Continued denial of rights is wrong and illegal, he president said. Diplomatic duplicity or Indian state terrorism cannot change this fact.

He added that India should fulfill its obligations towards the Security Council by giving the Kashmiri people their legitimate right to self-determination.

President continued to say that Pakistan will continue to be the voice of its brothers and sisters and will provide all possible support for their legitimate rights.

“We believe that lasting peace and stability in South Asia is possible only through a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir conflict in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the wishes of the Kashmiri people,” Arif Alvi stated.
