The spokesperson for the Chinese military mentioned that these drills are meant to deter elements seeking to incite unrest.
In response to the developments, Taiwan's Prime Minister, William Lai, affirmed that such threats wouldn't deter them.
Taiwan's Defense Minister also criticized China's military drills, asserting that Taiwan's armed forces are fully capable of defending national security.
