Dubai: A campaign against beggars has been launched in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to Dubai Police, citizens should avoid begging and discourage beggars, the public should also beware of 'online beggars'.
The Dubai Police added beggars will be fined 5,000 dirhams and three months in jail, while running a beggar gang will be fined 100,000 dirhams under Emirati laws.
According to the Dubai Police, six months imprisonment will also be imposed for recruiting beggars from abroad.
Apart from this, Dubai Police has also issued a toll-free number of 901 police to report beggars.
