The minister also hints at consolidating four distinct education institutions into a single entity

Lahore: The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) would be dismantled as part of restructuring Punjab’ education sector reforms, Punjab Education Minister Sikandar Hayat said on Friday. The minister also hinted at consolidating four distinct education institutions into a single entity.
Talking to a local news channel, he emphasised the merger of the textbook board, the Punjab Education Commission and teacher training institutions into one unified body, saying a department would be created under the leadership of the CM, including all four sectors.
Additionally, the curriculum development function would be integrated within this streamlined framework, Hayat said, adding that individuals from private institutions might also be included in the department.
The minister further said that the educators and stakeholders at all levels would be actively engaged.
