Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC ) on Tuesday reserved verdict on arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in Al-Qadir Trust case.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq expressed serious concerns over raid at the premises of the court to take Imran Khan into custody. The footages showed that the lawyers and staff members of the court fell injured during the Rangers' raid.
Imran Khan was sitting in a registry branch of the IHC where he had gone for his biometric but the footages showed that the Rangers continued to advance to that room in a bid to reach Imran Khan and arrest him.
Taking notice of the situation, the IHC Chief Justice summoned IG Islamabad, Secretary Interior and other officials and directed them to submit replies as how Imran Khan could be arrested from the court premises.
At this moment, the Chief Justice inquired, 'Please tell me in which case was the arrest made?' If action has to be taken, it will also be taken against the Prime Minister and the ministers.
The IG Islamabad presented a copy of the NAB warrant in the Islamabad High Court.
Barrister Ali Gohar revealed that Imran Khan was hit on the head with a rod and also on his injured leg. Lawyer Khawaja Haris stated that how many notices did NAB send and Imran Khan did not appear? It was discovered from the NAB case that the inquiry was converted into an investigation, and a request for Imran Khan's bail was prepared."
