Imran’s arrest: USA, UK, Canada, EU issue travel advisory
Avoid visiting areas where demonstrations and large gatherings are taking place, the travel advisory said.
Islamabad: After the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the United States, Britain, Canada and the European Union (EU) have issued a travel advisory for their citizens to travel to Pakistan.
The Canadian High Commission has issued a travel advisory and instructed its citizens to exercise extreme caution in view of the unpredictable security situation in Pakistan stating that there is risk of terrorism, unrest and kidnapping.
The travel advisory stated that Canadian citizens should avoid all regional travel and non-essential travel to Kashmir, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Canadian High Commission's travel advisory, security forces are on high alert in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi. The citizen have been directed to be careful in western-style restaurants and shopping centers.
Avoid visiting areas where demonstrations and large gatherings are taking place, the travel advisory said.
Apart from this, similar travel advisories have been issued by the United States, the United Kingdom and the EU.
It is pertinent to note that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan yesterday (Tuesday).
PTI Chief appeared in Islamabad High Court (IHC) for bail in cases including the rhetoric of military organizations, where a heavy contingent of Rangers detained Khan in the court.
After the arrest of Imran Khan, protests are being held by PTI workers across the country.
