FIA has made a crucial move by linking the Integrated Border Management System with the Passport and Nadra departments.
Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken a significant stride to combat human smuggling by integrating the Passport and Nadra systems.
The Integrated Border Management System will make it harder for anyone suspected, wanted, or advertised to escape the country.
This initiative aims to curb the ease with which suspects, wanted individuals, or those with warrants can evade capture and flee abroad.
According to reports, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has implemented the Integrated Border Management System in collaboration with the Passport and Nadra departments to control human smuggling.
This move will help prevent individuals with suspicious backgrounds from leaving the country and entering abroad.
As per the report, the record of over 220 million travelers is preserved in the International Border Management System, making it difficult for suspects, wanted individuals, or advertised persons to exit the country.
The FIA has established a three-phase checking system at 34 border crossing points, enabling enhanced scrutiny. The federal body prevented 19,550 individuals from traveling over the course of a year based on suspicion.
FIA states that 388 travelers were caught with fake and illegal documents, and 968 individuals engaging in illegal border crossings were apprehended, reinforcing their commitment to curbing human smuggling.
