The petition filed by Barrister Salman Safdar has sought the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on bail.


Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan Saturday filed a bail appeal in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the decision of special court established under the Official Secrets Act in the cypher case.
According to details, the petition filed by Barrister Salman Safdar has sought the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on bail. It has been contended in the petition that the prosecution filed the case out of malice.
The petition further stated that earlier on September 14, the Special Official Secrets Act Court rejected the bail plea and completely ignored the numerous irregularities and contradictions of the prosecution. Therefore, Chairman PTI should be released on bail.
It is pertinent to note that special court set up under the Official Secrets Act had rejected the bail plea of Imran Khan in the cypher case.
