Jeddah: The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has indicated that it will issue a special permit for Eid prayers at the Grand Mosque.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, permits for Eid prayers at the Masjid al-Haram can be issued through the Atemarna and Tawakalna app.
As per Saudi officials, permit holders will be able to offer Fajr and Eid prayers at the Grand Mosque on Thursday, and no one will be allowed to enter.
It should be noted that due to the global epidemic, strict arrangements have been made by the Saudi government and it is likely that foreigners will not be allowed to perform Hajj and Umrah this year as well.
Only locals and foreigners living in Saudi Arabia will be able to enjoy the bliss of Hajj by following strict conditions.
The Shawwal crescent was not sighted in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday which means the first day of Eid-Ul-Fitr will be on May 13 (Thursday).
Today is the last day of the holy month of Ramadan and residents in the UAE will enjoy a five-day Eid break, starting from the 29th of Ramadhan till Shawwal 3.

Later on, the Saudi Press Agency confirmed that the Royal Court had announced that Wednesday is the last day of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.

UAE residents will enjoy a long weekend to mark the occasion.
Meanwhile, Eid-Ul-Fitr gatherings and parties are banned in UAE. If found, the host will be fined Dh10,000 and each guest, Dh5,000.
Residents asked to report Covid safety violations to the police at 8002626.
On Monday, a top Dubai Police officer had said that gatherings of over five are banned.
Authorities called on residents to comply with all Covid safety measures, including mask use and social distancing. The police urged residents to avoid social practices that pose a risk to the health and safety of residents.
Gatherings at home or farms or any public place are strictly banned.
The police have called on residents to comply with the directives and has warned that those who do not face legal repercussions
Last year, only people who registered themselves on the official website and received approval were allowed to leave home.
However, those working in vital fields including energy, communications, medical, police, army, pharmaceuticals, electricity, water and media were allowed to go out without registering, although they were directed to carry Emirates ID and work ID to present for verification.
