Karachi: The nomination papers of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have been filed against objection.
An objection petition has been submitted to the Returning Officer on the nomination papers in which it has been stated that one person cannot be a member of two parties at a time.
In the objection petition filed by citizen Muhammad Ayaz, it was stated that Bilawal Bhutto in his nomination papers expressed his affiliation with PPP Parliamentarians while PPP and PPP Parliamentarians are separate political parties.
According to the petitioner, the election symbol of PPP is a sword and the symbol of PPP Parliamentarians is an arrow.
Bilawal Bhutto is the Chairman of Peoples Party and Asif Zardari is the President of Peoples Party Parliamentarians. According to the Election Act 2017, a person can be the member of one party at a time.
In the petition, it was appealed that this is the violation of the Election Act, the Returning Officer should take action as per the law.
