Governor Punjab Baligh-ur-Rehman took oath from Chief Minister Punjab in the oath taking ceremony held at Governor House.


Lahore: The newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Monday took oath.
According to the details, Governor Punjab Baligh-ur-Rehman took oath from Chief Minister Punjab in the oath taking ceremony held at Governor House.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and Maryam’s father Nawaz Sharif, party President and her uncle Shehbaz Sharif, her son Junaid Safdar and other party and family members including Marriyum Aurangzeb and Hamza Shehbaz were present at the event.
Prominent media persons and journalists are also atrtending the ceremony. The oath taking ceremony begun with the recitation of holy verses.
It is pertinent to note that Maryam Nawaz is the first female Chief Minister in the history of Punjab and Pakistan. She managed to score 220 votes in opposition of Rana Aftab Ahmed of Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) who could not get any votes as the party had boycotted the election process that took place in Punjab Assembly today.
