The Senate elections will be held on April 2, for which nomination papers can be submitted from March 15 to 16.
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Thursday released the schedule for Senate elections.
According to the Election Commission, the Senate elections will be held on April 2, for which nomination papers can be submitted from March 15 to 16 and the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on March 19.
It has been stated by ECP that the Election Tribunal will dispose of the appeals till March 25 and the list of candidates will be announced on March 26, while the nomination papers can be withdrawn till March 27.
According to the Election Commission, polling for Senate elections will be held from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
It is pertinent to note that the polling for the by-election on six seats of the Senate is taking place today, in which Mutahidda Qoumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have decided not to vote.
