Peshawar: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) released details regarding electricity load shedding in the province.
According to PESCO officials, there are more than 1300 feeders of PESCO in the province, out of which 156 are being load-shedding for only two hours. 135 feeders have 20 to 30 percent losses where six-hour load shedding is being done. While in 96 feeders, the losses are 30 to 40 percent and there are seven hours of load shedding.
The PESCO management stated that there are 40 percent to 60 percent losses on 143 feeders and the load shedding is of 12 hours. 157 feeders have losses of 60 to 80 percent and they face load shedding of 16 hours, while 159 feeders have losses of more than 80 percent and there 20 hours of load shedding is going on.
The Spokesman of PESCO stated that the duration of load shedding in urban areas is four to six hours, while in sub-urban areas, load shedding is being done for 16 hours.
According to PESCO officials, losses due to power theft and non-payment of dues are high and more load management on such feeders is inevitable.
