Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has sought report from Islamabad IG Police.
As soon as the scheduled end time of the rally passed, police started baton-charging the participants. Reportedly police also fired tear gas shells at the participants of the rally.
Details indicate that clashes erupted between the rally attendees and the police. The District Magistrate has directed the police to take stringent action against PTI.
Administration said that PTI did not adhere to the conditions of the No Objection Certificate (NOC).
During the protest, SSP Safe City was injured due to stone-throwing by the demonstrators. Additionally, at the 26 Number Chungi, rally participants violated the designated route.
According to media reports, when the police attempted to stop them, the rally-goers responded by throwing stones, resulting in injuries to several police personnel.
The deputy commissioner had made it clear that if the stone pelting continues, then police will start arresting workers.
"Now the public gathering has become illegal, so therefore the cases will be registered if the instructions of ending the rally will not be followed," the deputy commissioner added.
