NEPRA issued an order to impose fines on Multan, Peshawar, and Tribal Area Electric Supply Companies


Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has imposed fines on various companies for insufficient measures to prevent fatal accidents.
NEPRA has issued an order to impose fines on Multan, Peshawar, and Tribal Area Electric Supply Companies.
According to the order, NEPRA has also imposed fines on Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO), Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), and Tribal Area Electric Supply Company (TESCO) for not implementing measures to prevent the current.
The order states that MEPCO, PESCO, and TESCO could not satisfy NEPRA in response to the show cause. It imposed a fine of Rs10 million each on the three discos and ordered them to deposit the fine amount within 15 days.
The order further states that the three Distribution Companies (DISCOs) failed to implement the NEPRA rules and earth 100 percent of the poles in their administrative areas. MEPCO, PESCO, and TESCO have been directed to earth the remaining steel structures within three months.
According to the order, NEPRA has also acted for the failure to establish the Health, Safety, and Environment Directorate.
According to NEPRA, a fine of Rs10 million has also been imposed on Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO).
