Nobel Institute emphasizes that nomination process follows strict protocols and must not be used for political gain

(Web Desk): The Nobel Institute has criticized the rumors surrounding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s nomination for the Nobel Prize, calling it a political maneuver. The institute stated that the rumors were intended to influence Pakistani voters in Norway.
Christian Berg Harpviken, the Director of the Nobel Institute, expressed his concerns in an article in a prominent Norwegian newspaper. He pointed out that discussing the nomination before its official announcement was an attempt to sway the votes of Pakistanis living in Norway.
Harpviken also noted that this is the first time a political leader’s Nobel nomination had been used in such a way, which he believes undermines the integrity of the Nobel Prize.
Imran Khan’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize was recently announced by Norway's Centre Party, prompting strong reactions. The Nobel Institute emphasized that the nomination process follows strict protocols and must not be used for political gain.
