Islamabad: Pakistan has reported a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases and deaths amid concerns of fourth wave of coronavirus owing to Delta variant.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,607 cases of coronavirus were reported while 21 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,781.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 989,275.
As many as 919,163 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,508 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 350,259 in the province with 10,871 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 355,462 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,702.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 140,560 in the province with 4,385 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 29,080 confirmed cases while 319 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 21,989 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 601. On the other hand, there are 7,362 cases in GB with 116 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 84,563 cases in the capital city while 787 people have lost their lives.
