Pakistan reiterates strong support for Chinese President Xi's global initiatives
Pakistan will soon issue Panda Bonds in the Chinese capital market


Beijing: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated China for successfully hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and said that he wanted to learn from China’s development model.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that Shehbaz Sharif met with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang in Beijing, in which both leaders reiterated their commitment to further strengthen Pak-China relations.
The statement said that Pakistan will soon issue Panda Bonds in the Chinese capital market. The meeting emphasized the early implementation of ML-1, realignment of the Karakoram Highway, and Gwadar Port under CPEC.
In addition, it was agreed to work quickly on CPEC Phase II, including five new corridors, in the meeting of the Pak-China Prime Ministers.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s House said that 300 Pakistani and 500 Chinese companies participated in the B2B Investment Conference, in which agriculture, minerals, textiles, industry, and IT were declared priority sectors for investment.
The Prime Minister congratulated China on the successful hosting of the SCO summit and said that Pakistan wants to learn from China’s development model.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked China for its support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and development and reiterated his full support for President Xi Jinping’s global initiatives.
According to the statement, the signing of the Joint Action Plan 2024-29 was considered an important milestone in the meeting. The two leaders attended the ceremony of several agreements, including science and technology, IT, media, and agriculture.
The two leaders agreed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations grandly next year.
