Travel time between Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be 20 minutes


Islamabad: The government has decided to run a modern and high-speed train between the federal capital, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi.
According to the details, the decision to run a high-speed train between Islamabad and Rawalpindi was made in a meeting chaired by the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Railways Minister.
In the meeting, it was agreed to complete the rail project from Margalla Station, Islamabad, to Rawalpindi Saddar Station as soon as possible, while the framework agreement of the project will be finalized and signed next week.
According to the announcement, the travel between Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be completed in 20 minutes, saving time and fuel, while the modern and high-speed train will also reduce traffic pressure.
It was decided in the meeting that the track for the high-speed train will be provided by the Ministry of Railways, and the CDA will handle the management of the rail service. The meeting also agreed to import modern trains for the rail service.
On this occasion, Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi said that the launch of rail service between the twin cities will be an excellent public welfare project. Citizens will be able to travel between the twin cities quickly and easily in about 20 minutes.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that this project is a reflection of the Prime Minister’s vision of public relief. The completion of the project will provide thousands of citizens with modern and quality travel facilities.
