Tahir Ashrafi urges people to follow Covid SOPs during Muharram
Islamabad: Special Representative on Religious Harmony Tahir Ashrafi has urged people to follow Covid-19 related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during Muharram.
While talking to the media in Islamabad on Monday, he said that that government will make all efforst to ensure law and order situation during the holy month of Muharram.
“Consultations in this regard have been held with religious scholars of all schools of thought,” he added.
The Special Representative said that those behind the attack on Hindu temple in Rahim Yar Khan will be brought to justice.
A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will take place on Monday evening (today) for sighting of crescent of Muharram-ul-Haram 1443 AH.
As per details, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet at the Quetta DC office to observe the new moon of Muharram after Maghrib prayers.
Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Moulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting.
The Provincial and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also hold their meeting simultaneously at their respective headquarters.
The meeting will be attended by members of Central Ruet Hilal Committee, Zonal Committee Karachi and members of Ministry of Religious Affairs, Science and Technology, SPARCO.
The meetings of the Zonal Sighting Hilal Committees will be held at their respective places, the meeting will decide on the sighting of the moon of Muharram and the Chairman Ruet Hilal Committee will announce the beginning of the new Islamic year.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted moon of Muharram would appear on August 9, 2021, with Ashura likely to be on August 19.
