The trial will test safety of the vaccine as well as immune system response generated by it in children aged between 6 and 17 years.
300 children will be enrolled in the trial which will take place in London, Southampton and Bristol. The trial will begin by February end, the university said in a statement.
Coronavirus has relatively been less harmful in children with milder cases as compared to adults and less contagion potential, although the jury is still out on that aspect of the virus.
