Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has abolished 14-day wait condition for the pilgrims who want to perform Umrah, in a bid to maximize number of pilgrims.

According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, pilgrims wishing to perform Umrah will no longer be required to wait for 14 days to book for the ritual.

The ministry said that, any pilgrim can now immediately book an appointment through ‘Eatmarna or Tawakkalna applications’ to perform another Umrah after his/her Umrah permit expires.

Previously, the ministry had set an interval of 15 days between the issuance of two Umrah permits for pilgrims of all age groups.

The new directives will be followed with complete compliance of COVID-19 precautionary measures

As per coronavirus related Standard Opertaing Procedures (SOPs), pilgrims and worshipers aged 12 or above with a valid immune health status will be able to perform Umrah and prayers at the Two Holy Mosques.

On October 16, the Ministry of Interior announced easing in restrictions across the Kingdom, including those affecting the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, allowing a full return to operations and capacity.
