A large consignment of the corona virus vaccine from China and the USA reached Pakistan, on Monday.


According to details, the 6.6 million doses of the vaccine had reached Islamabad. Out of these 6.6 million doses, three million doses were of the Sinovac vaccine which reached here from China.
Sources disclosed that these three million doses were gifts for Pakistan from China.
They added that the China-made vaccine reached Islamabad on board a PIA flight.
Similarly, 3.6 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine from COVAX also reached Islamabad.
Sources further said that all these doses had been stored at the PIA’s warehouse, and that these will be distributed to the provinces as per their requirements.
The federal government, they added, would ask for a demand list from the provincial governments before handing them these vaccines.
Sources said that out of over 140 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine that had reached Pakistan so far, over 100 million had been purchased.
COVAX has gifted 30 million doses so far, while China has gifted 8 million doses to Pakistan.
