Pakistan’s COVID positivity rate, cases soar overnight
The fourth wave of COVID appears to be taking hold in Pakistan again as country recorded 460 cases on Thursday – increase over the 270 cases reported a day ago.
Islamabad: According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 460 fresh cases emerged while 10 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 28,638.
The fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic has continued its downward trajectory as Pakistan's coronavirus positivity ratio further fell to 1.11% with 10 causalities over the past 24 hours.
In the past 24 hours, Pakistan has conducted 32,006 tests out of which 460 individuals were tested positive for the disease.
The total number of cases has reached 1,280,822.
As many as 1,229,683 patients have recovered from the disease.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 442,162 in the province with 12,986 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 473,561 in the province, while the death toll has reached 7,609.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 179,346 in the province with 5,809 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 33,422 confirmed cases while 358 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 34,521 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 741. On the other hand, there are 10,404 cases in GB with 186 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 107,406 cases in the capital city while 949 people have lost their lives.
