According to details, court while hearing a petition against election tribunal’s decision to reject Saifullah Abro’s nomination papers for Senate polls, nullified the decision of tribunal and allowed him to contest elections.

Earlier on February 22, the Election Tribunal had rejected the nomination papers of Abro on a technocrat seat.

The petition was filed in election tribunal by Mustafa Memon against acceptance of Saifullah Abro’s nomination papers by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

In the petition, it was mentioned that Saifullah Abro concealed his assets in the papers and Returning Officer accepted his nomination papers without hearing the other side. The petitioner requested tribunal to nullify ECP’s decision and disqualify PTI leader for forthcoming Senate elections.

On February 24, PTI leader Liaquat Jatoi accused PTI of selling party tickets in the Senate elections and said that Saifullah Abro was given a ticket by party for Rs. 350 million.

In response to Jatoi's accusations, Abro sent him a legal notice demanding proofs and evidence supporting his stance.
