California: World's largest internet website Google is set to introduce free ‘Blue Tick’ to users and organizations on Gmail accounts and other Google brands from May 3 to prevent counterfeiting, it said in a blog post.

Under the above mentioned feature, free blue tick will be provided to users of other Google brands including Gmail users and Google Workplace around the world after verification.

The blog post stated that the feature was tested in 2021 and the company has named this feature and program as 'Brand Indicators for Message Identification' (BIMI).

Once the email receiver hover over the blue checkmark next to a sender’s name, it will see a blurb that says “the sender of this email has verified” that they own the domain and logo in the profile photo.
