Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) determined to challenge the Peshawar High Court's (PHC) decision to restore the Pakistan-Tehreek-Insaf ’s (PTI) polls symbol ‘bat’ in Supreme Court (SC).
According to the details, the Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja Thursday had a meeting in which four members of the commission and special secretaries participated and the Election Commission’s official team started preparing the petition for moving the apex court on the order of the ECP officials.
In the meantime, the caretaker information and broadcasting minister Murtaza Solangi also held a meeting with officials of the election commission.
It is to be noted that the PHC accepted the PTI’s plea and described the Election Commission’s decision of December 22, 2023 as null and void.
