At least 56 people martyred and several injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up during Friday prayers


Peshawar: Two CCTV videos have surfaced the horrors of the suicide attack in Peshawar’s Jamia Masjid Kocha Risaldar that killed and wounded scores of worshippers.

According to the CCTV clips Peshawar blast, people can be seen arriving at the Jamia Masjid for Friday prayers. The assailant opened fire outside the mosque. The assailant was wearing black clothes.
The video clip shows that the attacker opened fire at the two police officers deployed at the entrance of the prayer place while he shot another man on his way in. It also shows that the attacker entered at 13:07 into the prayer hall and seconds later detonated his explosive vest. According to several eyewitnesses, the attacker had opened fire on the worshipers inside the hall.
“When people started running out of the mosque to save themselves the attacker blew himself,” an eyewitness said.
According to reports, the blast occurred during Jummah Prayer in Jamia mosque at 12:55 pm. The injured have been taken to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.
Police and rescue teams reached the spot after getting information. The explosion was the result of the suicide bomb attack, said officials.
The area, however, has been cordoned off.
The explosion blew out the windows of nearby buildings, and frantic rescuers were seen ferrying the dead and wounded from the scene.
Among the injured, ten are said to be in critical condition.
At the hospital, there was chaos as doctors struggled to move the many wounded into operating theaters.
According to sources, the blast occurred during Jummah Prayer near Jamia mosque. The injured have been taken to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.
In the meantime, Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly condemned the terror attack and sought a report from the concerned authorities—directing the administration to provide every possible aid to the injured.
Moreover, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Ijaz Ahsan confirmed one police official was killed while Asim Khan.
The CCPO said, two attackers tried to enter a mosque and fired at the policemen standing guard.
Following the attack, a blast took place in the mosque.
The terrorist was dressed in black and fired five to six bullets, said an eyewitness.
