'Buzdar in trouble': Aleem Khan likely to join hands with Tareen group
PML-N leadership also contacts the PTI leader ahead of no-confidence motion
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader and former Punjab minister Aleem Khan is most likely to join estranged Jahangir Tareen group as Opposition mounts the pressure to oust the Imran Khan-led government.
On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Quad-e-Azam leader Chauhdry Pervaiz Elahi had advised the PTI govenrment to take big political decisions.
"Keeping in view the prevailing political situation, the govenrment should take decision as early as possible."
Sources told GNN that Aleem Khan would visit the estranged PTI leader Tareen's residence today to attend an important meeting of his PTI group regarding the no-confidence motion, sources said.
They revealed that the meeting would be held at Tareen’s residence while the former PTI secretary-general would attend the huddle via video link from London.
They said that the members would adopt a joint political strategy by gathering all the groups within the PTI.
Meanwhile, Khan is said to have made contacts with over 40 Punjab MPAs, including 10 ministers, in the last 30 days, the sources said. The names of these MPAs, however, will be kept secret till the current political scenario becomes clear.
Sources further added that during the meeting today, the members will review the strategy in case the no-confidence motion is presented in the Parliament.
They will also review the Opposition's efforts to convince other disgruntled members of the ruling party and their proposals and strategies regarding Punjab and the Centre.
Tareen is currently in London for his medical treatment.
The sources said that Tareen has the support of 20 MPAs and if they support the Opposition's no-confidence motion, the chief minister can be ousted.

The PML-Q leadership advised the PTI to take major political decisions, sources said, adding
current political situation demanded that the government go ahead and take a decision first.
"The situation is rapidly getting out of the government's hands, Pervez Elahi.Whoever decides first gets the upper hand in politics," the Speaker Punjab Assembly advised.
Sources further quoted the PML-Q leader as having said the situation was changing from moment to moment as consultations were also being held on this situation and contacts were also being made.

Members of Jahangir Tareen group continued to visit Jahangir Tareen's residence. Aun Chaudhry, Salman Naeem, Lala Tahir Randhawa, Noman Langarial, Khurram Leghari, Ajmal Cheema, Abdul Hai Dasti, Aslam Bharwana arrived to discuss current political scenario.
Other who also joined the meeting were Saeed Nawani, Zawar Hassan, Bilal Warraich, Iftikhar Gondal, Amin Chaudhry, Ghulam Sangha and Qasim Linga.
